Soap Loaves
Our artisan soap loaves are designed to look bright and beautiful but to be gentle upon your customer's skin, our soaps are SLS Free (for those who are not familiar with SLS it is Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, our soaps contain in it's place Sodium Laureth Sulphate (SLES) it is a different ingredient to Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS). SLES is considered to be milder which is why we choose to use a soap base which is SLS free). We add to our soaps carefully chosen our essential oils or parfum fragrances. We colour our soaps with cosmetic water colours. These are gentle on the skin and will not cause any staining. The water colours will over time blend and flow together, this is a natural process for water colours and adds to the effect of the soap as the colours blend together to create different colours and patterns. We have perfected our craft to create soaps which have shapes embedded inside them, twirls and curls, hearts and different layers to make them all the more appealing. Each Loaf has 14 slices, each slice weighs approximately 90g this varies slightly as our slices are all hand cut. Our loaves weigh an estimated 1250-1300g .
Our loaves are very competitively priced to allow you a minimum mark up of 2.5% when using our SRP, you are of course free to price the soaps as you wish. For example you pay from 99p exc vat for a slice of soap (when buying a whole unsliced soap loaf), our SRP would be £3.50 per slice giving you an excellent mark up. Unsliced
Buying your soap by a whole loaf, unsliced is the most cost effective option which will offer you the greatest mark up. The loaf will be received whole, wrapped in cello wrap for you to slice yourself. A label will be provided which will detail the ingredients contained within the loaf, the batch number and useage instructions etc. We do not tend to supply our loofah soaps unsliced just because they are more difficult to slice due to the nature of the loofah running through them. However should you wish to receive it whole please just advise us at checkout and we will send it to you whole. If you are slicing your own soaps please see our slicing guide for helpful information.
Sliced and Wrapped
The loaf will be pre sliced by us into 14 slices which will be individually wrapped and labelled. We recommend that you have one unwrapped slice in your shop to allow customers to smell the fragrences we have found that customers sell many more bars when they have an open slice available. If sliced into 14 slices then each slice weighs 90g .
Bath Bombs
Our bath bombs are one of our most popular products. We sell them in packs of 6 in a wide variety of fragrances and designs. Our bath bombs are only made using water colours, we do not use any pigments in our bath bombs so that there is not a risk of staining and they are much more gentle on the skin. Each bath bomb is individually wrapped in cello ready for retail. Understanding the difference between SLS vs SLES
SLS and SLES are ingredients which are commonly found in most cosmetics that are used to clean, whether that be hair, skin or even teeth. They are also found in many household products such as some which clean clothes. The two ingredients sound very similar, you have, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and sodium laureth sulfate (SLES). As the two sound so similar they can often be confused but they are very different to each other. You will often see products (including ours) which advertise that they are SLS free, many manufacturers in the UK and EU choose to produce SLS free products as they find from research that they are believed to be more gentle. Both ingredients are used in the same way, they are added to products to produce a foam cleaning action, but again they are different to each other.
Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), is a surfactant which is known to be a great cleaning product but is also found in many users to be an irritant when left on the skin for prolonged periods of time. It can lead to dry skin and irritation. That said SLS is deemed safe to use by regulatory bodies and is widely available in many High Street products, given the belief that it can be a skin irritant ourselves and many other producers choose not to use it in our products.
Sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) is a replacement or alternative to SLS. It is created through a process called ethoxylation, where ethylene oxide is added to change the makeup of the compound. The ingredient is safe to use in cosmetic products and is found to be ore gentle and does not strip excess moisture from the skin or hair folicles. We choose to use SLES for this reason. Our bath bombs are SLS free along with our soap bars and sponges.
Our Bathbombs are made using:
Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond Oil).
In addition to the above our soaps and bathbombs contain other carefully sourced ingredients to make them smell, feel and look beautiful.
